Program Recap

On October 4 2025, the International Marketing Community BINUS (IMCB) held a comparative study activity with the Management Student Society (MSS) from the University of Indonesia (UI). This activity aims to strengthen relationships between students and become a place to share insights, experiences and best practices in the field of organization and self-development in the world of marketing.

The activity began with filling in attendance by all participants from IMCB and MSS UI at the BINUS Anggrek campus, room 412. A warm and enthusiastic atmosphere was felt from the start, showing a high spirit of collaboration from both parties. Participants who attended showed readiness to learn from each other, bringing notebooks and writing tools, ready to record any valuable information.

The event then opened with welcoming remarks from the General Chairperson of IMCB Valencia, who expressed his appreciation to MSS UI for their presence and spirit of collaboration. Valencia emphasized that this moment is a golden opportunity to compare strategies and innovations in facing organizational challenges in the digital era. Furthermore, the speech was continued by the Head of the Kemanggisan Region, Stella Tanero, who emphasized the importance of activities like this as a forum for exchanging ideas and learning across universities. Stella also highlighted how synergy between two large organizations can produce breakthrough ideas in marketing and management that are relevant to industry needs.

From MSS UI, MSS Chair Christian gave a speech followed by MSS Project Manager Bivianca who explained his hope that this activity could strengthen cooperation and expand networking between student organizations. Christian said that MSS was very impressed with IMCB's reputation as one of the leading marketing communities, and hoped to adopt some of IMCB's best practices, especially in terms of branding and internal communications. The welcoming activity was then closed by IMCB Project Manager Olin, who expressed his thanks for MSS' participation and emphasized the spirit of synergy and collaboration in this event. Olin assured that IMCB had prepared an interactive and useful session.

The event continued with a material discussion session by MSS UI, which presented several of their superior programs such as ICMSS (Indonesia Capital Market Student Studies), MIST Seminar, IMOTION (Indonesia Marketing Competition), MX (Management Exposed), and PROMS (Project On The Moves). The presentation from MSS UI was very detailed, not only focusing on achievements, but also on the problem-solving and risk management processes they implemented. Through this presentation, IMCB can learn a lot about how MSS runs national scale events with creative and impactful ideas. In particular, MSS's success in attracting large sponsors and ensuring national participation in the IMOTION event became a topic of great interest to IMCB members, triggering many questions about their fundraising and public relations strategies. Participants from IMCB actively took notes and discussed enthusiastically during this session, asking in-depth questions regarding logistics and post-event evaluation. The question and answer session became very lively, reflecting great curiosity from both parties.

After the MSS session was finished, it was the turn of the Core Management Board (DPI) and the IMCB Division Coordinator to introduce the IMCB organizational structure. This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of the dynamic and results-oriented workings of IMCB. Starting from the Public Relations, Funding, Creative Media and Human Resources divisions, each explained their roles and responsibilities in carrying out daily IMCB activities. MSS UI members welcomed this presentation, giving appreciation for the role played by each division at IMCB. It is clear that both organizations have their own unique strengths.

The activity then ended with a tour of the BINUS Anggrek campus, starting from the 4th floor to the ground floor. Participants were invited to see various campus facilities and get to know the learning environment at BINUS University, such as modern classrooms, computer laboratories, and student discussion areas. This tour was not only a relaxing conclusion, but also provided an opportunity for participants from IMCB and MSS UI to interact informally, exchange contacts, and forge new friendships outside the formal context of the organization. This moment strengthens the personal bonds that have been built throughout the day. In closing, all participants took a group photo in front of the LKC (Learning & Knowledge Center) as a symbol of memories and togetherness in this successful comparative study activity, leaving a deep impression about the importance of collaboration and the spirit of sharing between student organizations.
